🐾 Our Story: In Memory of Paka, In Service of Second Chances

I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember — but the first time I rescued a Pitbull, my life changed forever. Her name was Buttercup. I was 19, lost in a lot of ways, and she was the softest, goofiest, most misunderstood little light I’d ever met. I didn’t know it then, but she was the beginning of my purpose.

Since then, I’ve become a veterinary technician, worked in clinics and shelters, and cared for animals in their most vulnerable moments. And time after time, one truth has broken my heart: Pitbulls are often the first to be judged and the last to be saved.

Paka — my grandmother — always believed I was meant to do more. She saw my dream of opening a rescue just for Pitbulls. She told me to go for it, even when I didn’t think I could. When she passed, she left behind more than love and memories — she left me the courage to finally build what she always knew I could.
