▶️ Clean Air Allies has an idea: What about a Youth IAQ Video Contest?

What if high school students across the country were challenged to create 1 to 3-minute videos about school IAQ?

The theme? "It's Time to Care about School Indoor Air."

How fantastic would it be to generate a bunch of videos that raise public awareness, and elevate youth voices, around the importance of school indoor air quality?

Videos would literally help make indoor air visible.

Clean Air Allies is raising funds to make the Youth IAQ Video Contest happen.

Any amount that you can give is greatly appreciated!

We'd be delighted to see lots of $5 or $10 donations. But of course, bigger donations are welcomed, too!

▶️ What can we achieve together?

With your generous support, before the end of November 2025, Clean Air Allies will launch the "It's Time to Care about School Indoor Air" 2025-26 Youth IAQ Video Contest. Finalists and winners will be announced, and prizes distributed, in early 2026.

▶️ What will your donation help to fund?

Donations will support:

A $500 first-place Youth IAQ Video Contest prize*
A $250 second-place Youth IAQ Video Contest prize*
A $150 third-place Youth IAQ Video Contest prize*
Costs related to running the contest (e.g., website-related costs)

*It is anticipated that prizes will be distributed in the form of cash-equivalent gift cards.

We estimate that 2025-26 Youth IAQ Video Contest entries will collectively get tens of thousands of views.

Together, we can help tens of thousands of people see more clearly why school IAQ is important.

Clean Air Allies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that all schoolchildren, school workers, and their broader communities have access to the benefits of clean air.

We started in fall 2023 as an informal grassroots network of California school IAQ advocates. To make a bigger difference, in 2024, we began to transition to more formal nonprofit status.

In March 2025, we were granted fiscal sponsorship by an established 501(c)(3) organization. This allows us, as a volunteer-run, startup nonprofit, to have experienced backend support as we focus on growing our reach and sustainability.

Our work centers on four complementary objectives in service of a clean air future:

Building the capacity of grassroots advocates to make healthy indoor air a priority at the school-district level,
Raising awareness of why good school IAQ is critical for health, inclusion, learning, and resilience,
Identifying and promoting best practices around existing IAQ-related school planning, operations, and compliance mechanisms,
Advocating for better school IAQ policy, funding, and accountability.

Our specific focus to date has been on California, home to 12% of U.S. public school students. But our approach and resources have broad relevance.
