Be the LIGHT. 🗼Take the STEP. 👠

For survivors. For those we’ve lost. For a future free from fear.

Domestic and sexual violence have no place in our homes, our relationships, or our community.

Across the United States, more than 1 in 3 women and more than 1 in 6 men have experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime.

And violence can begin much earlier. Among U.S. high school students who reported dating:

About 1 in 12 experienced physical dating violence.
About 1 in 10 experienced sexual dating violence.

Behind every statistic is a real person—a neighbor, a friend, a coworker, a classmate, or someone we love.

That is why we walk.

The Julie Marange Memorial Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 2026

Each October, the Mande Milkshakers invite our community to come together for the Julie Marange Memorial Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, benefiting Safe Harbor Northshore and its work supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

What began as a walk has become something much bigger: a community standing together, speaking out, remembering those we have lost, supporting survivors, and helping create a future where everyone can live free from violence and fear.

Men, women, teens and children are invited to join us for a symbolic one-mile walk through the Town of Madisonville. Wear the heels. Wear your sneakers. Walk with your family. Build a team. Come exactly as you are.

What matters is that you take the step.

When You Walk, You Walk:

✔️ For survivors rebuilding their lives
✔️ For those still suffering in silence
✔️ For those whose lives were taken
✔️ For the children and families affected by violence
✔️ For Julie and all those whose stories inspire us to keep walking
✔️ For a future free from fear
