SALT Outreach was born behind the Orlando Public Library, a spot where people experiencing homelessness gathered long before we ever arrived. That is where our team first set up, showed up, and started serving.

What began as a small act of love has grown into something much bigger. Today SALT operates mobile drop-in centers across Florida and beyond, serving people Monday through Friday with showers, laundry, meals, clothing, case management, and housing support. In 2024 alone we completed over 18,660 loads of laundry, provided 16,477 showers, distributed more than 53,000 hygiene products, and gave away 18,484 clothing items. Our case management team held over 2,190 appointments and helped 294 people transition into permanent housing.

Since August 2020 we have helped more than 2,137 people find a path off the streets.

None of that happened by accident. It happened because people showed up. Donors, volunteers, churches, businesses, and community members who decided that homelessness was not someone else's problem.

Walk in Their Shoes is our way of inviting you into that story. Not as a spectator but as a participant. When you walk this route you will feel in a small way what it costs to navigate this city without a home. No car, no bathroom, no shade, no place to sit and rest that belongs to you.

Every dollar raised through this event goes directly to keeping our services free and our doors open for the people who need them most. We are a 4-star rated nonprofit and 86.5 cents of every dollar goes straight to programs.

Every step you take on November 14th moves someone closer to home.
