THE BACKGROUND:

The New Providence Education Foundation's mission is to award teacher initiated grants to better enhance our district. This past year, a very unique grant was presented by NPMS/NPHS administration. Our board, realizing the impact of this initiative, wanted to be a part of making this a reality for the entire community. However, due to its size and cost, we were unable to approve this in the current grant cycle. We decided that going forward, a different approach may be needed to fully fund this particular grant. We are so proud to say that we will be partnering with the New Providence High School Parent Teacher Student Association to help reach our goal. Due to various fundraisers and the generous community, the NPHS PTSA is fortunate enough to be making a sizable "special project" donation as they also see the importance of this project. The NPEF will continue to fundraise and host our usual events such as Harlem Wizards (Nov. 21/22) and our Touchdown for Education (Feb. 1). We are hopeful to launch some new fundraisers this year to continue to raise funds for this grant and others within this grant cycle. We need your help! THE PROJECT:

New Providence schools are the heart of the New Providence community, where students learn, grow and prepare for the future. This grant will allow the administration to launch an exciting new initiative to enhance our school environment with custom digital graphics that celebrate our community, our history, and the educational journey of every student.

This project will transform our school walls into vibrant, motivational spaces that inspire students and staff every day. With your support, we will:

• Create a Welcoming and Inspiring Space: Custom artwork featuring motivational quotes, positive messages, and uplifting themes will foster a sense of pride and belonging.

• Celebrate New Providence’s Rich History: By incorporating elements of local history, we’ll remind students of their community’s heritage and the importance of their place within it.

• Support Our Curriculum Visually: Graphics tied to academic subjects will enhance learning and bring classroom lessons to life.

• Build School Spirit: With branding that reflects our school identity, we’ll promote unity and Pioneer Pride across the district.

THE GOAL:

A well-designed school environment has been proven to boost students’ morale, increase engagement, and improve overall well-being. These improvements to our physical spaces will leave a lasting impact, benefiting current students and generations to come.

Overall, this project supports the district's goal of fostering wholistic student growth and creating a supportive learning environment for each and every student.

This project will be done in coordination with the maintenance and custodial staff, who will be painting the hallways and trim throughout the entire building to match school colors and brighten up all spaces.
