Wayside Schools is dedicated to serving a community where over 80% of our clients identify as Latino, and over 70% are eligible for free or reduced lunch. For many of these students, they will be the first in their families to pursue a college education.

Students who actively participated in our survey or responded to our check-in calls shared that a financial barrier of approximately $1,500.00 kept them from enrolling in their second year of college. The College Completion Program at Wayside Schools is pivotal in supporting these students during this critical time.

Our mission is clear – to advance first-generation student success through intentional high-impact programming that revolves around two key pillars:

Partnerships for Academic Success and Leadership Development: We believe in fostering meaningful collaborations that contribute to our students' academic achievements and leadership development. Services Building Community, Increasing Engagement, and Promoting Retention: Navigating the unfamiliar terrain of higher education can be daunting, particularly for first-generation students.
