Hunger Action Los Angeles (HALA)  is proud to help over 350 families in our Weekly Food Delivery Program.  The ongoing concerns about delays or shortages have caused our food program to become even more in demand. HALA recognizes how crucial it is to diversify our funding sources to continue supporting those in need. That's why we're reaching out to you: consider giving once or setting up a monthly donation.

Our grocery delivery program was born during the challenging times of COVID-19, when many of us felt isolated at home. Thanks to our wonderful volunteer drivers, Hunger Action Los Angeles (HALA) began working tirelessly to ensure that communities all across the county, starting from our headquarters in LA, could access vital food supplies.

Even $5 a month or $500 can make a meaningful difference. Every dollar is incredibly valuable right now. We also warmly welcome volunteers to help with packing and driving deliveries to those in need.

Hunger Action Los Angeles (HALA) is a caring nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger. Our mission guides us through three key strategies: first, we empower communities by educating them about their rights, available resources, and how to advocate for change. Second, we engage in advocacy, working alongside other food organizations to develop policies that support people facing hunger.

While advocacy and community education are vital parts of our work, I want to highlight our direct service efforts, which address the root cause of many issues within our community—food insecurity. As rates continue to climb amidst these turbulent times—be it ICE enforcement, LA fires, government shutdowns, or HR1—we find ourselves navigating a complex economic and political storm, whether we like it or not.
