WES ❤️ PEASE

At Wallingford Elementary School (WES), a family school, we believe that every child deserves a place to play, laugh, and belong.

To expand welcoming spaces at WES, we are launching a campaign to build an accessible, inclusive playground. Our goal is to create a space for every child, regardless of ability. Designed to support mobility challenges and sensory development, it will offer a space where children of all abilities can learn, explore, and connect through play. While located at our school, it will serve as a community space, open to local families and designed for children across the area.

Inspired by a powerful visit from Kyle Pease, we are proud to partner with The Kyle Pease Foundation to help bring this vision to life. Their mission of promoting inclusion and redefining what’s possible reminds us that when we remove barriers, we open the door to extraordinary potential.

For one of our second-grade students, Will Getty, who lives with cerebral palsy and spends much of his school day in a wheelchair, this playground would mean so much more than a place to play—it would mean freedom, independence, and the chance to fully participate alongside his peers. And Will is not alone. This inclusive playground is designed for all children—those with physical, sensory, and developmental differences, as well as their typically developing peers.

We are proud to launch this campaign with our first fundraiser: WES ♡ PEASE. Inspired by Kyle’s incredible story of perseverance, inclusion, and community, this initiative will bring WES teachers and community members together to participate in the Delco 10-Miler on Sunday, October 4, 2026—alongside a day of school spirit and fun.

Our mission is simple: to create a safe, welcoming environment where every child feels seen, included, and empowered—not just at WES, but throughout our community.
