Walk for Sight 2021 - Online & In Person!
Sat, Aug 7 8:00 AM – Sat, Aug 21 5:00 PM EDT
In Person
On August 7th we kick off the virtual Walk for Sight 2021 for seven days, with our Grand Finale celebration In-Person on August 14th! Create a team, join a team, or help spread the word. Donations can be assigned to specific teams or people to reach individual fundraising goals.
Story
Future In Sight, established as the New Hampshire Association for the Blind in 1912, is the only statewide nonprofit that provides specialized services and support that meet the range of needs that individuals of all ages and stages of vision loss experience at home, at school, and in the community – including via online learning and telehealth channels.
In a highly visual world, having a visual impairment can have a far-reaching effect on all aspects of life. From a child’s early development, teens’ preparation for the workforce, adults’ career adaptations, to seniors’ safety, independence, and mental health, building connections, accessing training and support are all critical drivers of overall health and well-being.
Both our Youth Services and Adult Services teams address the holistic needs of the person served through 1:1 training and group social/recreational activities, peer support and technology user groups. Increasingly, advances and affordability of technology in the marketplace enable greater accessibility for individuals who are blind or visually impaired; our staff integrates those tools into the education and training they provide, while providing expertise to parents, teachers and other professionals who seek to support accessibility for the student.
Together with the students’ and clients’ hard work and determination, we deliver services that yield lasting outcomes, so that they thrive during life’s changing circumstances — and we do not deny anyone services based on their financial capacity.
We thank you for your support!
