Thank you for clicking on our donation link! Alvin and I have been married for over 6 years, and have been trying to start a family since our wedding. After two years of trying, we were able to naturally conceive, but unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 9 weeks. You can watch my miscarriage story below.

After 2 more years of trying, we decided to go get our fertility tested and find out why we weren't able to conceive again. After getting tested we learned that we had a 1% chance of getting pregnant naturally (male infertility factor), and the doctor recommended us do a cycle with IUI. I ended up doing that cycle, but was in a huge amount of pain from the procedure. Unfortunately we did not get pregnant with that IUI, and a few factors with that clinic caused us not to be able to try again for a few years.

A few years passed again, and I was able to get referred to a better infertility clinic that specializes in IVF. After getting all of our testing again, we proceeded to get 3 more iuis done with this clinic, with all of them failing.

After our third failed iui with this clinic (4th failed total), our doctor said our only chance was to move to IVF. Here we are - 6.5 years later, and gearing up for our first IVF cycle. I'm extremely nervous but also excited, because our chances for conceiving with IVF are over 70% (whereas with iui they were only 6%).

Unfortunately, IVF is very expensive (usually a minimum of $15k) and extremely time consuming. The process will begin around the beginning of February and will last at least 12 weeks. I'll have to inject myself for weeks, drive to daily doctor's appointments, spend thousands of dollars, be on a roller coaster of emotions, buy bigger pants for all my extreme bloating, undergo an egg retrieval with anesthesia, and more. I have cried many tears with receiving this diagnosis, but I think I'm finally in a state of acceptance. I am truly excited to start the process, and to welcome Baby Wheeler by next Christmas!

I will be documenting my whole journey on my YouTube channel, in the hopes that I can help others, but also so I can look back at our journey and know that it was totally worth it in the end!

UPDATED: we recently had our first frozen embryo transfer, and unfortunately it was a chemical pregnancy. We are now gearing up for a second transfer in July.
