When Women Gather: Honoring Loss, Naming What Matters
Thursday, October 22 | 7:00–8:30 PM
Sacred Threads Center
71 Walnut Park, Newton, MA 02458

Join us for a meaningful community gathering where women come together to connect—with themselves and with one another—in a spirit of care and sisterhood.

Loss of many kinds is a natural part of the human experience. We may feel loss when something or someone is no longer available or present to us. Loss can be felt when there is change in a work situation, a transition to a new stage of life, rupture in a relationship, death of a loved one, a shifting of something that was once familiar but is now different. Some loss is inevitable, sometimes it comes unexpectedly, and sometimes we intentionally make a choice that nonetheless leads to a feeling of loss. How do we make room to name and consider what loss means to us? As we pay attention to how loss is a part of our lives, what awareness of meaning and values emerge as we look at the days and journey ahead?

Through guided meditation, journaling, personal reflection, small group sharing, and creative practice, we’ll explore how loss is a part of our lives, shaping and moving us onward.

Co-led with guest facilitator Fiona Lovell Horning, MA. Fiona is an INELDA trained death doula, artist, and writer. Her work can be found on her Substack, "Eudaimonia Means Human Flourishing."
