Bells Old Glory Shop, Blue Bolt Spirits, Sven Smash Designs and Whiskey Valor Foundation have partnered to raise awareness and funds to provide Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) swords to 25 deserving active-duty United States Marine Corps Corporals and Sergeants.

The NCO is the backbone of the Marine Corps, and the NCO sword is a symbol of leadership and authority within the Marine Corps. It pays homage to the time-honored traditions and values of the Marine Corps. The NCO sword embodies leadership, duty, and tradition with the Marine Corps.

History:

The U.S. Marine Corps adopted the M1859 NCO sword in 1859.
The sword is used in ceremonial events, such as weddings and drill.
The M1859 is the oldest weapon in continuous use in the U.S. military.
Colonel John Harris, 6th Commandant of the Marine Corps, gave the sword to NCOs and SNCOs to recognize their leadership in combat.

Design:

The sword has a straight blade and a hilt with intricate motifs.
The hilt is often made from polished brass and has a leather wrapped grip.
The scabbard is traditionally made from leader.

Purpose:

The sword reminds Marines of the NCO's responsibility for discipline and order.
Used to remind the NCO of their responsibility to care for their troops.
