Walt Whitman High School's music program depends heavily on the generosity of our community to provide the best opportunities for our students. Last year, Whitman Music Boosters funded over 65% of the program’s operating costs! This support is more important than ever given budget cuts and gaps in funding from MCPS.

And our students have earned it. Last year our ensembles earned superior ratings at the annual MCPS performance evaluations, placed 32 students in the elite Maryland Music Educator Association’s All-State ensembles, and sent graduating seniors to world class colleges and conservatory programs like the New England Conservatory (Harvard), NYU Drama, Berklee School of Music, and others. This year, our entire program has an incredible opportunity to travel to Nashville, TN to compete in the Music City Classic Competition!

Only with the help of community members like you can we continue to provide the assistance our talented, hard-working students deserve.
