Local news needs your support

The Wilson Times relies on community support from subscribers, advertisers and readers like you to fulfill its mission as a comprehensive source of news and information and an independent voice for Wilson County. Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, we need your help more than ever.

The unprecedented public health crisis and its restrictions on business and commerce have resulted in steep reductions to the Times' advertising revenue, our No. 1 source of funding. In response to the pandemic, we've had to make some changes to our print schedule, but we've ramped up our efforts on WilsonTimes.com to provide Wilson County with a 24/7 digital news source.

We're providing our COVID-19 coverage to all WilsonTimes.com users free of charge, and we're fighting for our readers' right to know the extent of the virus' impact in Wilson. The Times joined a 19-member news coalition that retained North Carolina's top media law attorneys in order to obtain information from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services on COVID-19 outbreaks at nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

The Times continues to serve as Wilsonians' watchdog of state and local government, seeking transparency and truth so our readers will have the facts they need to make informed decisions in their daily lives.

We've also partnered with the Local Media Foundation to support our coverage of the novel coronavirus pandemic. The Wilson Times' COVID-19 Local News Fund accepts tax-deductible contributions that will allow us to continue bringing you the latest and most comprehensive news about the virus and its impact on Wilson County.
