Help Us “Clothes the Gap” and Provide Warmth to Sioux City School District Families

Each year, the Sioux City Public Schools Foundation encourages the Siouxland community to join the annual “Clothes the Gap” initiative—a campaign dedicated to providing essential cold-weather clothing for Sioux City Community School District families in need.

Come together and make a difference by donating new winter wear, including coats, hats, gloves/mittens, boots, sweaters, and long pants for toddlers, youth, and especially teens. Donations can be dropped off at any Sioux City School District building or at the Sioux City Public Schools Foundation office, located at 627 4th St. in Sioux City. We’re also collecting personal hygiene items and laundry detergent to support families’ everyday needs.

For those who prefer to give monetarily, donations can be made directly through the donation button at the top of this page. These funds are used to purchase clothing and other essential items for students who need them most.

Why Your Support Matters

On average, 70% of the Sioux City District’s 15,000 students and their families rely on assistance to meet basic needs. A simple winter coat, a pair of warm boots, or well-fitting shoes can make a world of difference, giving students the confidence to focus on their education. Every donation helps ensure that our youth have the resources to succeed in the classroom and beyond, enabling them to attend school feeling comfortable, confident, and ready to learn.
