Did you know that 1 in 5 kids in Fulton County suffer from food insecurity? That means they don’t know where their next meal will come from. Yet, 1/3 of those hungry kids live in the gap—that awful place where hardworking families struggle with cost of living yet earn too much money to qualify for SNAP or the free/reduced lunch program.

Unfortunately, many families are unable to keep up with rising costs…including school meals. The sad reality is that school meals are the only meals some children get. Can you imagine eating lunch on Friday and not eating again until Monday morning?

Hunger changes how a child's brain and body grow and affects thinking, learning, and behavior. When a child is worried about where his or her next meal comes from, s/he can’t possibly be expected to care about academics.

Luckily for Rochester’s kids, Joe's Hope Foundation, Inc. and Unnecessary Extras are committed to paying off outstanding student lunch debt at Fulton County schools!! Will you help us wipe out school lunch debt?
