An exploration of Zimbabwean cultural roots and a personal rite of passage into womanhood, From the Motherland is a breathtaking capstone from our 2020/2021 Shirley Graham Du Bois Creative in Residence, Tanyaradzwa Tawengwa Nzou Mambano.
Featuring twelve songs blending voice, mbira, piano, percussion, and bass, this powerful performance honors the cycles of life and the strength of Black womanhood.
