Violence against women is a global problem that affects millions of people every year. As per data provided by UN, "Globally, an estimated 736 million women—almost one in three—have been subjected to physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both at least once in their life (30 per cent of women aged 15 and older)." In the United States, one in three women will experience some form of physical violence in their lifetime.

Since its establishment, Action for Nations has taken the initiative to empower women through self-defense training Learning self defense can help women to feel more confident and empowered, and it can also teach them the skills they need to defend themselves if they are attacked.
