Vindeket is a non-profit food rescue that partners with grocery stores, restaurants and farms to reduce wasted food.

We operate a no-cost market open to anyone, powered by community members working together to revalue food and one another.

Our Market is open three days per week. We also distribute food to 25 different non-profit organizations on a regular basis.

Vindeket is run by the community, for the community.

Vindeket’s mission is to empower each of us to take ownership in the food cycle to restore our earth, our communities, and ourselves.

A testimonial from one older adult that shops regularly sums up why we do this work in the way we do it: “ I don’t feel broken when I come here.” A parent told us “Vindeket has transformed our family food budget and is a chance for our family to practice living in community. I am able to help out by stocking food, breaking down boxes, and cleaning out coolers. Volunteering at Vindeket reminds us that if we all take care of each other, we always have more than enough.” Another participant reflected that “from the start, everyone wants to show you around and get to know you. That feeling of community was one of the first things that, after I first shopped, made me want to come back.”
