Defense of Democracy has run several workshops discussing the serious risks that Turning Point USA’s “Club America” chapters pose to our students’ privacy, our teachers’ safety, and the integrity of our school boards. Now, it’s time to take that knowledge and turn it into action.

During our “Spring into Awareness Campaign,” volunteers commit to attending one school board meeting during the month of April to read a prepared statement and raise awareness about the risks associated with allowing this club into high schools will bring..

Let's ensure that no school board in our country approves a "Club America" chapter without first understanding the legal and safety liabilities involved.

You Bring the Voice, We Provide the Tools

We know that speaking at a board meeting can be intimidating, especially if you’ve never done it before. We are here to make it easy for you. When you sign up to be an April Advocate, we will provide:

A Ready-to-Use Script: A 3-minute speech professionally drafted to focus on legal and safety concerns (not politics).
The "Board Packet": A one-page fact sheet and a sample Board Resolution to hand to the Board Secretary for their records.
Logistical Support: Need help finding your board’s meeting schedule or understanding the rules for public comment? Our team is standing by to look that up for you.
Peer Coaching: If you’re nervous, we can hop on a quick call to help you practice your remarks.
