Alvin Park's Story

Hi everyone, My name is Alvin Park, and I’m thrilled to be running the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon in support of the Women's Prison Association (WPA). This race is not just about the miles for me—it's about contributing to a cause that empowers women to rebuild their lives and thrive after incarceration. The work WPA does is life-changing. They provide critical resources like housing, job training, and emotional support to help women transition back into their communities. I was moved by the stories of women who, with WPA’s help, found a second chance and a path to independence. One story in particular, from Evelina Williams, really struck a chord with me. After being incarcerated, she received the support she needed to rebuild her life and now works as a Youth Care Specialist, giving back to others in the same way WPA helped her. It's stories like these that inspire me to run and raise funds for this incredible organization. Every dollar I raise will go directly toward WPA’s programs, ensuring more women can access the support they need to lead safe and independent lives. I believe in the power of second chances, and I’m committed to doing my part to support these women as they rebuild their lives. Thank you for supporting my marathon journey and, more importantly, for helping to make a difference in the lives of these strong, resilient women. Together, we can run for change!
