Support the Winston-Salem Urban League This Giving Tuesday

This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your support to continue creating opportunities, building equity, and empowering our community. Our goal is to raise $5,500, with funds split to support both the core programs of the Winston-Salem Urban League (WSUL) and the dynamic efforts of our Young Professionals (YP) auxiliary group.

The Work of the Winston-Salem Urban League

For 76 years, WSUL has been a pillar of support for Winston-Salem and surrounding communities; bridging gaps in access to employment, education, health, and civic engagement. Through our Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), we provide vital job training and career development opportunities for local youth, helping them gain confidence and skills to succeed in the workforce and beyond.

For older adults, our Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) offers meaningful job training and placement opportunities across 15 counties in North Carolina, enabling seniors to re-enter the workforce and contribute to the community while maintaining their independence.

Our programs address critical needs in the community, from reducing barriers to employment to fostering lifelong learning and growth.

Young Professionals: The Next Generation of Leadership

The Winston-Salem Urban League Young Professionals (YP) are a dynamic group committed to empowering young leaders and advancing WSUL’s mission. Through networking events, professional development workshops, and mentorship opportunities, YPs provide a space for young adults (ages 21-40) to grow personally and professionally while staying connected to the community.

As an extension of WSUL, YPs play a vital role in supporting the affiliate’s programs and initiatives, amplifying their impact throughout Winston-Salem and beyond. By fostering leadership and encouraging civic engagement, the YPs contribute to building a stronger, more equitable community for everyone.

Every dollar you contribute not only supports these programs but also empowers the next wave of young leaders to dream bigger, do more, and create lasting change.
