The Wegene Youth Club is delighted to announce the 2023 Children's Short Story and Poetry Contest, an annual event providing a unique platform for middle and high school students in grades 4–12 to showcase their exceptional writing skills and compete on a global scale.

The contest is intended for students worldwide who want to express their creativity and imagination through the art of storytelling and poetry. The stories and poems are aimed at children aged 7 to 10, providing a unique opportunity for young writers to connect with their peers.

Also, all of the money made from this competition will go to the Wegene Knowledge Center in Ethiopia to help pay for the education of the children of Wegene. Participating in this event will significantly improve the educational and learning opportunities for Ethiopian children who will benefit from your generous support.
