Please consider donating to or setting up your own Why I Climb campaign to support Survivor Wellness throughout the remainder of this year. All donations support Survivor Wellness, a cancer care community in Salt Lake City founded as Cancer Wellness House in 1997 to provide cancer survivors and their caregivers with free and reduced cost services and support in a home-like setting. This year's Survivors at the Summit Why I Climb campaign raised over $8000, and we want to "take it to the summit" by raising a total of $20,000 in 2025.

Read below to learn about Survivors at the Summit and the reason for this challenge. We hope you'll join in, get a Tribute Flag, engage your community in support, and plan and make your climbs in 2025!

On behalf of the cancer survivor community at Survivor Wellness, thank you!

Since the first summit of King's Peak in 1996, cancer survivors, their caregivers, friends, colleagues and family members have celebrated the triumph of the human spirit at Survivors at the Summit. Over 5000 people have joined this annual event to show their love for those impacted by cancer while raising funds for Survivor Wellness, a nonprofit organization providing programming for cancer survivors in Salt Lake City.

The 29th annual Survivors at the Summit will be held on July 27 at Brighton Resort. Whether you can attend the event or not, you can participate in Why I Climb!

Cancer survivors are at the heart of the event, and the bright yellow Tribute Flags are its symbol. The main display of hundreds of these flags sending messages of love, hope and remembrance over the mountains encourages us to reflect on our personal journeys and the challenges along the way.

Every dollar raised at Survivors at the Summit goes to support Survivor Wellness in its mission of providing cancer survivors and their caregivers with access to free and reduced cost cancer wellness services and support in a home-like setting.

WHY I CLIMB 2025 provides an opportunity for you to CHALLENGE YOURSELF, to PAY TRIBUTE to loved ones, to ENGAGE your COMMUNITY, and to raise funds to support Survivor Wellness.

By participating, you’ll not only challenge yourself, but also contribute to a cause that uplifts survivors and their caregivers.

Choose your CLIMB - What will your challenge be?
Take ACTION - You'll need to register on this page - see below.
Plan your CLIMB - Set a timeline and make a plan.
Make your SUMMIT count - Plan to share it!

Create your WHY I CLIMB campaign - follow these steps!
- Set your fundraising GOAL
- Write your STORY - be sure to include your WHY and your CLIMB. Story may be edited anytime - just log in!
- Make an initial donation of $25 to receive your Tribute Flag. Write your message! Share a photo on your story once your flag is complete. Contact our office at 801-236-2294 or helpdesk@survivorwellness.org to receive your flag.
- SHARE your WHY I CLIMB campaign. Click the "Share [your team name's] Page" button, and send to your friends, family, colleagues and community members, so they can learn about your WHY I CLIMB campaign, donate and participate.
Update your Story anytime with photos, information, instructions, successes and encouragement for your supporters and hiking partners!

Other hints for a successful WHY I CLIMB campaign:

Stay in touch with your support team, especially those who plan to join you on your Climb!
Keep supporters informed about your climb if you invite them to join
Share the impact of their donations on the organization - see below!
If you plan to attend Survivors at the Summit on July 27, be sure to register at www.survivorsatthesummit.org ($25 registration fee includes Celebration of Life, Tribute Flag display, two meals and a lift ticket, and more!)
Anyone who contributes to your WHY I CLIMB campaign will receive a special thank you from Survivor Wellness, acknowledging their donation. You may also thank them directly from your campaign page!

Share your person's fundraising page with your community to increase the impact and help your person reach their goal.

All donors are required by Givebutter to cover the standard (around 3%) processing fee for each donation.
To avoid paying fees, choose the "Check" option, and send us a check!
Givebutter also suggests you leave a "tip" to Givebutter; you are welcome to choose whether to or not. That tip does not go to Survivor Wellness.
