The “Autism Unity in the Community” events are a meaningful initiative that provide a supportive space for autistic individuals and their families. By bringing families together, we encourage social interaction, foster connections, and create a sense of belonging in the autism community across Georgia. Our events not only focus on autistic individuals but also engage their families, helping them access crucial resources to thrive.

Auturity, a nonprofit organization, bridges the gap for autistic youth and adults as they transition into adulthood, while Special Needs Siblings (SNS) supports and empowers the siblings of young people with disabilities. Through our partnership, we’re offering a monthly social program that connects autistic individuals and their families with vital resources for independence and success.

In this three-part event:

• Autistic individuals (14 and older) will participate in fun social games such as bingo, connect four, and checkers, all facilitated by paid professional volunteers, allowing them to socialize independently from their parents or siblings. • Siblings will have the chance to share their experiences and bond through sibshops—interactive sessions that celebrate sibling connections and provide them a space to express themselves. • Parents and caregivers will meet with experts in various fields including medical, legal, workforce, and education, to discuss transition services and other essential resources needed for independent living.
