Story

Auturity is a nonprofit organization that fills a crucial gap in services for autistic youth and adults as they transition into adulthood. Special Needs Siblings (SNS) is a nonprofit organization that empowers the brothers and sisters of young people with disabilities. Through our monthly social events, Auturity and SNS are connecting autistic people and their caregivers with critical resources as they gain independence.

Our social events are designed to serve as epic events for the entire family. While the themes may change from month to month, “Autism Unity in the Community: Games, Grooves & Guidance” will offer:

  • A social game of bingo for autistic people ages 14 and older—facilitated by paid professional volunteers—allowing autistics to socialize without their parents or siblings.
  • An opportunity for siblings to talk about shared experiences while also enjoying a fun Zumba fitness dance class in which siblings interact with each other, creating a celebratory sense of siblings connecting.
  • A panel of experts in the areas of medical, legal, workforce, education, and independent living transitions where parents and caregivers can discuss the resources and transition services they need.

Our mission is to empower families experiencing autism and give them the resources they need to thrive. Your sponsorships and donations allows us to offer our services to families affected by autism at a reasonable cost. Would you consider helping us make this happen?
