With your donation, you can make a difference in the lives of some of the most at-risk youth in West Virginia for many years to come!

Our new project is a Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Proposal for a forgivable loan to provide housing for young women aging out of foster care or leaving the justice system. We also have a new program which is a 12 month accelerator program, a more intensive version of our current mentoring program which we will launch this coming year. We have a bank on board (Clear Mountain Bank in Morgantown) to provide a bridge loan, and we have a contract in place with the Morgantown Lodge of Freemasons to purchase the property at 1000 Stewartstown Rd. in Morgantown, contingent upon receipt of the forgivable loan.* This building will be a place to provide the most vulnerable young people housing, employment at our social enterprise, therapy, job training, mentoring, and Libera groups and programs. The building will serve as a community center for all those we serve, including teens; and it will provide transitional housing for 8 foster or justice-impacted youth leaving the system.

In our work with transition age foster and justice-impacted youth, one of the main barriers they face is affordable housing. We have also discovered that the more time we are able to spend with these young people, the better they fare. Finally, transportation is a big issue for these youth. This building is right on the bus line, and positioned above Suncrest Towne Center with groceries, shopping, and job opportunities readily available.

Libera, with their expertise, passion, and mission, will address young women facing the challenge of homelessness. Libera will be able to make a positive difference for eight young women.
