From the Twin Cities to Goma: Skateboarding, Resilience, and Global Solidarity

On October 17, 2026, [X]POSE Global hosted our very first community pop-up in Minnesota — an Intro to Skateboarding clinic that raised $355 in direct support of our global partner, Youth in Goma.

The Story in Goma, DR Congo

Based along the eastern border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Goma is a vibrant community navigating the harsh realities of regional conflict. In a place where youth face extraordinary hardships and street violence, safe recreational spaces are nearly nonexistent.

Dani, the founder of Youth in Goma, is changing that narrative by using skateboarding and creative expression as tools of resilience, community, and joy.

"I believe skateboarding is helping our youth to stay away from the hardships of street life. It gives them hope and purpose in a country full of challenges."

- Dani, Founder of Youth in Goma

The Next Chapter: Gear & Safe Ground

Even though our initial clinic has wrapped, our solidarity continues. Youth in Goma is working toward a monumental goal: building their first permanent, safe skatepark for local youth.

Simultaneously, [X]POSE Global is partnering with Minnesota-based organizations to collect, refurbish, and upcycle complete skateboards. Every dollar raised through this campaign directly:

Funds the construction and materials for the future skatepark in Goma.
Covers international freight and logistics to safely deliver refurbished skate gear directly into the hands of these young riders.

Whether you’re chipping in the cost of a cup of coffee or sponsoring a shipment, you are part of a movement that bridges communities across oceans through shared craft.
