WORKSHOP OVERVIEW & FACILITATOR

OVERVIEW:

Storytelling is a powerful tool not just for occasions with family and friends. In a workshop setting, storytellers can connect with an audience to find common ground, create potent memories, share vulnerabilities, and grow relationships. This session begins with what storytelling is, how it can link participants in meaningful ways, leveraging interactive activities to foster engagement. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to connect with others, tell their own unique story successfully, and soar with enhanced communication.

BACKGROUND:

Shareé is a storyteller, community advocate and California native. During the day she spends her time working to create an environment that champions belonging and inclusion across the organization in her role as the Workforce Culture & Belonging Consultant at Arizona Public Service (APS). During her 15-year tenure with APS, Shareé has worked in Customer Service, Events, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Community Affairs.

In 2015, Shareé became an adjunct faculty for South Mountain Community College and has taught in the Storytelling Institute for several years to adults and youth. She also facilitates storytelling workshops for organizations, leadership retreats, youth organizations, employee engagement forums and mentoring circles. These workshop activities allow participants an opportunity to develop and implement techniques to integrate storytelling into their own daily lives, personally and professionally. Shareé holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from ASU West and a master’s in law from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU. Outside of work, Shareé is a busy mom of two and a dedicated community advocate, serving on the Earn to Learn Board, Moonshot AZ Advisory, and as Board Chair for FIBCO Family Services and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Phoenix Metro Chapter. Shareé is driven by the belief that stories can change lives and is affirmed by the following quote:
