Welcome to Yore Roots!

We are officially incorporated as a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation! Our mission is to empower rural and under-resourced communities across Fresno County to preserve, digitize, and share their unique, irreplaceable local history.

From small farm towns to historic community spaces, our heritage is slipping away as physical archives age. Yore Roots is stepping up to provide grassroots mobile workshops, scanning days, and digital community preservation, ensuring these stories are protected for generations to come.

Why We Need Your Support Today
We are launching this vital community mission with exactly $0. To begin operating independently, hosting our first free local scanning days, and applying for major state-level preservation grants, we must secure our official IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

We need to raise exactly $350 to cover our immediate government startup filing fees:

$275 — IRS Form 1023-EZ Application Fee
$25 — California Registry of Charitable Trusts (Form CT-1)
$20 — California Statement of Information (Form SI-100)
$30 — Core seed cushion to establish our zero-fee nonprofit bank account

Become a Founding Donor
Because we are in the initial launch phase, donations are not yet federally tax-deductible, but your contribution acts as the vital seed capital that makes our survival possible. 100% of these funds go directly to clearing these government administrative hurdles.

By giving $10, $25, or $50 today, you are laying the foundation for historical preservation across the Central Valley. Thank you for standing with rural communities and backing local history from day one!
