MENTOR Washington is proud to offer the Youth Mental Health First Aid course! Our executive director, Jolynn Kenney, is a certified instructor and is passionate about working to improve behavioral health outcomes for young people and the adults supporting them. She has a Masters of Education in Counseling and has over 25 years of experience working with young people.

Training Calendar

We offer this training virtually several times a year. This option includes 2 hours of self-paced online pre-work and 5 hours of virtual live instruction.

- Registration Deadline: Monday, August 3rd (allows for shipping time of printed materials)

How much does YMHFA cost?

This is a nationally recognized certification and we do ask participants to help cover the cost of the licensed seat and materials.

Why Youth Mental Health First Aid?

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18.

Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges in this age group, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD).
