Story
The Latino Task Force Youth Interns are organizing and curating their very own Graduation Ceremony during the Carnaval San Francisco Resource Fair & Celebration on Saturday, May 29, 2021. The Youth have been an integral part in the day-to-day operation of all areas of the San Francisco Latino Task Force on COVID-19: Mission Food Hub, Resource Hub, Testing & Vaccination, Education Hub. They have been at the forefront of providing resources to our Latino families since the pandemic began.
Letter from the Youth:
Due to COVID-19, schools did not have in-person graduation ceremonies in 2020 and will not have them in 2021. There is only one high school graduation in every youth’s lifetime and not being able to participate in one feels disappointing. Instead of waiting for the schools to decide whether or not there will be a graduation ceremony in 2021, us Youth Interns are taking the initiative to organize and design our own graduation ceremony at the Carnaval San Francisco Resource Fair on Saturday, May 29th. This rite of passage is important because it will showcase our efforts and accomplishments throughout our high school years. It it also important for our parents to see us cross the stage because it brings a sense of pride to the whole family. We will also include youth who graduated in 2020 as part of the combined ceremony.
Please support our efforts to produce the graduation ceremony that we could not have in 2020 & 2021 due to COVID-19. Your donations will go towards:
