Each year, approximately 140,000 children are adopted by American families, and in 2021, approximately 12,400 young people in Minnesota experienced out-of-home care (foster care).

Power of Story believes that every single one deserves to know their history, hear their family stories, hold photos of the past, and understand their medical information, as well as receive support from adults who can help them process their complex pasts in a way that is developmental, healthy and supportive.

While it may not seem glamorous to pay for insurance, technology, license renewals, and Lifebook supplies, it is absolutely vital to seeing our vision fulfilled and has a direct impact on young people.
