Titan Observatory is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to make radio astronomy more accessible through real instruments, real data, and a remote-first observing platform for students, educators, and enthusiasts.

Our goal is to purchase, relocate, modernize, and automate a remarkable 10-meter radio telescope originally acquired directly from NASA nearly 50 years ago. The instrument has been carefully maintained, and its core mechanical structure and precision gearing remain in excellent condition. It represents a rare opportunity to preserve a piece of NASA heritage while turning it into a real public science resource.

We plan to modernize the telescope with updated control systems, radio astronomy feeds and receivers, and a user-friendly web platform that will allow people to reserve observing time, collect real data, and receive guided results they can actually understand.

This project is about more than saving an instrument. It is about giving more people direct access to the process of science. Radio astronomy is usually inaccessible to beginners, but Titan Observatory aims to make it possible for curious learners, citizen scientists, and future researchers to explore the universe using real observational tools.
