On June 4, 2024 the American Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) celebrated the 20th Anniversary of our flagship office in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Over the last 20 years, ACMS has supported scores of young scholars conducting field research, helped hundreds of students learn the Mongolian language, expanded access to Mongolian Studies-related library materials online and in Ulaanbaatar, built the capacity of Mongolian libraries across the country, and brought countless scholars, educators, and lifelong learners to Mongolia to participate in once-in-a-lifetime experiential learning experiences. In July we also welcomed a new U.S. Director and in September, we seated a new Board of Directors.

And the next 20 years are looking even brighter. We have big plans and endless ideas, including joint programs, resource-sharing agreements, and internship and volunteer programs with Mongolian and US universities, photo digitization and archival projects, conferences, and increased access to fellowships and scholarships for both American and Mongolian students and scholars.

But we can't do it alone. With your support this Giving Tuesday, our hard-working staff, brilliant volunteers, and dedicated Board of Directors will be able to accomplish amazing things. A donation of just $20, that's $1 for each of the next 20 years, will allow us to turn our big ideas into bigger achievements.
