The L.E.T.S. classroom at The Arc Mid-South is where adults with intellectual disabilities learn to read, manage money, and build job skills. The classroom runs on equipment most people never think about: tablets that let someone without speech answer a question, chairs that fit different bodies, and tools that help a student stay in the room when their brain gets overwhelmed.

These are adults who aged out of special education at 22 with few options after. They show up three mornings a week because they want to learn things the school system never taught them. This classroom makes that possible. It's one of the only programs like it in Memphis.

Items the classroom needs are listed below with prices. We're clearing the list by Friday at midnight. If you can cover one, that's one fewer thing we're chasing.

What is L.E.T.S.?

Life, Education, Training & Skills. Adults with intellectual disabilities come to class three days a week to work on literacy, money management, and job skills. After they complete the program, our team helps them find and keep jobs.
