It's my crazy 8 year...and no...I personally don't think this is crazy at all! What's "crazy" is the crazy colossal sized impact this events makes providing hundreds of camp scholarships to kids in need. I have the privilege of seeing this impact first hand each summer. For those of you that have been through a summer camp experience, you get what camp can do for a child. For those who never really had a traditional summer camp experience, here are a few things that kids gain: 1) make new friends 2) increase social skills 3) learn new skills (sports, swimming, games, etc) 4) get to be themselves in a judgment free place 5) build lasting memories and core values 6) interact with positive role models 7) get to play outside...all day! 8) just be a kid and have fun A donation to the Sloper Plunge goes directly to these opportunities for children all over Southington and Cheshire. #forthekids
