Meet Tim Van Dyke of Hidewood Horses near Clear Lake, South Dakota. He'll be working with Albert and we can't wait to see what they accomplish together!
Tim specializes in starting horses and putting a solid, confident foundation on them. Having been around horses since childhood, he transitioned to pursuing his passion full-time after serving 13 years in the army.

Albert is a kind, friendly, easy to be around horse. Albert has the core groundwork in place and has accepted a saddle but not yet had a rider. He spent a summer being a pet at a local company doing a feed trial with his friend Walter and missed last year's Showdown due to a pending adoption that fell through at the very last minute. Albert is simply too nice of a horse to live at rescue and with training should make someone a very good partner.

The 2024 Dakota Showdown Teams are working hard this summer. You can help them earn the "Fan Favorite" award by donating now! The team that raises the most will be named the "Fan Favorite".
For even more fun we are holding a White Elephant Ticket Raffle. For every dollar donated you will have a ticket put into your team's jar at the Showdown. There is one large prize to be drawn from the Fan Favorite jar ... and then we'll start drawing for smaller prizes based on amount raised. The team with the least amount of donations will draw a winner first, and the winner will chose a prize. The next amount will have the opportunity to steal their prize or pick a new one. If the prize is stolen, the person who lost their prize can either steal another or pick a new prize.
All prizes other than the grand prize will be in the $20-40 range. Prizes can only be stolen twice; once it is stolen the second time the person keeps it. You do not need to be present to win. If you are not present, you can nominate someone to choose for you or a volunteer will choose a prize for you from the table. Winner to pay any shipping required to receive their prize.
