Speaker Bio:

Dr. Christopher Adams is a lifelong entomologist who spent his childhood investigating the natural world with a field guide in his back pocket and reading books on entomology. He received his Ph.D. in entomology from Michigan State University and he is now the Assistant Professor of Tree Fruit Entomology at Oregon State University stationed at the Mid-Columbia Agricultural Research & Extension Center in Hood River. His lab focuses on the pests of pear and cherry orchards and he has many years of on-farm research experience that informs his work in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Chris' enthusiasm for entomology and teaching earned him the Dr. Eugena McDaniel Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching and in addition to his professional work, Chris is also the leader of the local 4-H "Bug Club".
