My journey with the Freedom Challenge began in 2016 when I participated in my first Freedom Challenge Climb. Since then, I have been actively involved in bringing awareness, raising funds, and supporting this incredible organization. The women I have met throughout these amazing climbs are remarkable and we have stories and memories that will last a lifetime.
- The Grand Tetons in Jackson Hole, WY in 2016
- Estes Park, CO in 2017 where I made it to the Keyhole of Longs Peak
- Machu Picchu, Peru in 2017. Trekked the Salkantay Trail and hiked above 16,000 ft. Summited Machu Picchu mountain.
- In December 2018, I ran my Come Back Half Marathon and raised funds for the FC.
- Mount Baker, WA in 2019. First technical climb! We made it to the Crater before turning back due to bad weather. We were remarkably close to the Summit!
- Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa in October 2022. Summited to 19,341 feet.
I look forward to the Adirondack’s challenge this September.
My WHY: I am deeply passionate about what the Freedom Challenge does and what they stand for. The struggles and challenges we face cannot even compare to what the women and children we support face daily. It allows your perspective, attitude, and mind-set to change and to really appreciate life. God has opened my heart and eyes to helping others and climbing mountains allows me to get personally challenged, grow closer to Him, and be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Personally, the Freedom Challenge has helped me to get through some of my own personal obstacles, hurts, and trials and has helped me to ultimately find my own voice in the process. It has been a very humbling experience. God is so good to us!
