My name is Rachael Sklar and I am so excited to be back for my sixth season with BvB Dallas and this year taking on the role as CO-CAPTAIN of the BLUE TEAM. With our goal of tackling Alzheimer's, we raise money every year for local nonprofits providing research, supporting those affected and spreading awareness of Alzheimer's Disease. As the 6th leading cause of death in the United States, and a disease with no known cure or prevention, we are a group passionate about changing the diagnosis for millions of people. I joined BVB Dallas in 2019 to follow in the footsteps of my grandmother, Patsy Sklar. She spent many hours volunteering her time at the Alzheimer's Association of Houston, a cause which she grew extremely passionate about. After her accident 8 years ago, she was unable to volunteer anymore. Being introduced to BVB Dallas was no coincidence and I knew it was a cause I would immediately get behind. I am so lucky that I have the ability to follow in the fight that my Mimi contributed to for so many years. This year, I honor my Mimi, who passed away in February of 2023. I also joined BvB in honor of my great Aunt Margaret, who lost her battle with Alheimer's at the age of 95.

I am truly grateful for all support that I receive on my fundraising journey as a part of this 2025 season!
