Story

Envisioning a future of thriving communities and sustainable businesses

For over 25 years, ECOSS has partnered with communities, businesses, municipalities and government agencies to promote environmentally sustainable practices. ECOSS specializes in education and outreach, with a focus on immigrant, refugee and other communities who are disparately impacted by environmental injustices.

Your generosity will help the communities and businesses we serve promote cleaner water, broaden environmental stewardship, advance environmental equity and more.

Support local BIPOC-owned restaurants by participating in our daily giveaways! Register for the daily giveaway and tune in during Sustainable Futures Fest Oct 27-29 at 12 noon to be entered into a drawing for one of several gift cards. Each day you tune in will provide one chance at a $50 gift card to a local BIPOC-owned restaurant. That's three entries just for showing up!

Furthermore, donate at least $25, and you'll get an additional entry into the drawing. After the three-day event closes, we'll conduct the drawing and reach out to winners.

ECOSS works with many immigrant, refugee and other BIPOC restaurant owners on preventing spills, staying ahead of recycling and composting regulations, and more. Thus, we offer these gift cards so that you too can support small, local businesses while attending the Sustainable Futures Fest.

ECOSS' Sustainable Futures Fest returns in 2021 with a three-day line up. Tune in October 27-29 at noon each day for:

  1. Just and Sustainable Futures. A discussion at the intersection of multiple sectors around environmental justice and sustainability. Join Lylianna Allala (Climate Justice Director, City of Seattle), Joycelyn Chui (ECOSS alumna & Environmental Health Graduate Student) and Syris Valentine (Writer & Climate Justice Advocate) to hear their thoughts on just and sustainable futures.
  2. ECOSS' DEI Journey. What is the purpose of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work? What does this work look like at a multicultural organization? ECOSS staff members will discuss the organization's journey.
  3. Environmental Outreach Showcase. Highlights of ECOSS' work in promoting environmental equity through outreach and education.

Watch this space for updates on this year's fundraiser!
