After a 15+ year struggle with early onset Alzheimer's, my sweet mother, Lynn, finally succumbed to the disease at the relatively young age of 72 in October 2018. In the last few years of her life, I was called to educate myself on the disease and pledged to do anything and everything I could to help further the cause to find a cure. I became a Certified Community Educator through the Alzheimer's Association, and have been involved in fundraising for research, personally raising nearly $10,000 in the last two years. Although my mother is no longer with us, I continue to champion the cause in her memory.
