In 2013, the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS™) was founded with a singular vision: to elevate the art, craft, and business of voice acting by fostering education, recognition, and career advancement. What began as a passion project has grown into a globally recognized organization that champions voice actors, producers, and spoken-word artists across genres, languages,and countries. One of the most distinguished endeavors at the heart of SOVAS™ is the Voice Arts® Awards, created to celebrate excellence in voice performance and inspire both emerging and established artists. Often referred to as “The Oscars of Voice Acting,” the Voice Arts® Awards honor the most outstanding talents in voiceover across entertainment, advertising, gaming, audiobook narration, spoken word, and more. This prestigious platform has significantly elevated the visibility of voice actors, granting them long-overdue recognition on the world stage. Today, we are honored to present you with a meaningful opportunity to become an official Founding Donor of the James Earl Jones Prize™, a landmark tribute to one of the most revered and influential voices in performing arts history. Your contribution will bring to life two extraordinary creations: A stunning, larger-than-life bronze bust of James Earl Jones, sculpted by the acclaimed Littleton Alston, the first African American artist to have his work represented in the Statuary Hall Collection at the U.S. Capitol. His artistry will shape a magnificent tribute that will stand in the lobby of the James Earl Jones Theatre, under the stewardship of the Shubert Organization, preserving Mr. Jones’ cultural and artistic legacy for generations. A series of 12-inch bronze replicas, which will serve as the official James Earl Jones Prize™, awarded annually to a performer whose body of work embodies the spirit, mastery, and profound influence exemplified by Mr. Jones throughout his career. As a Founding Donor, your name will be permanently enshrined as a champion of this historic initiative. Larger donors will also receive an honorary membership in SOVAS™, further connecting them to the ongoing mission of advancing and celebrating voice artistry. Upon completion, we will have a larger-than-life size bust which, will live in the James Earl Jones Broadway Theatre in New York. In addtion, and as a cost saving measure, 10 12-inch replicas will be created as the actual statue to byu bestowed upon the those so honored.
