Your gift for Avenue’s Community Initiatives program builds strong, connected communities in Greater Northside by supporting residents in advocating for the things that they need and want in their neighborhoods.
Upcoming and Ongoing Projects (your donations support):
- Community Action Plan: making progress toward the goals stated in the plan created by Northside residents in 2024 to improve safety, promote economic stability, increase access to health resources and improve the quality of life for neighbors.
- Advocacy Trainings: provides information and training for residents to gain a greater understanding of local and state government and how to access their representatives. The Advocacy Fellowship program provides an opportunity for 15-30 Fellows to take a deeper dive into the materials and work on projects together.
- Language Justice: the Interpreting for Justice (I4J) fellowship program creates an opportunity for Spanish-language speakers to learn the specific skills needed to conduct live interpretation, providing access for non-English speakers to engage in public spaces.
