When I graduated college, the furthest I'd ever run was a 5k. Fast forward to today, and I've done several marathons and even dabbled in ultramarathons. Running is a core part of my identity and has given me purpose. The same can be said for Sicangu Co. Before moving to Rosebud, I was working a corporate job and wondering what the heck I was doing with my life. After two years of teaching, I got connected with Sicangu Co and have now been with the organization for over five years. The work -- from food sovereignty and bison restoration to housing and Lakota language revitalization -- has been incredibly rewarding and allowed me to put my professional skills to a cause that really matters.
