Currently ranked 12th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Center at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital harnesses the power of world-class experts from all disciplines related to child brain health, including neurology, neurosurgery, neurocritical care, neurogenetics, neuro-oncology, rehabilitation, neuroradiology, neuropsychology, and psychiatry.
The Center cares for more than 50 new patients each year, many who are enrolled in clinical trials that give patients access to experimental treatments such as new forms of radiation therapy or chemotherapy. Patients have access to the most advanced therapies available, neuropsychological consultation, and palliative care for life-threatening conditions
UCSF is a member of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium and participates in clinical trials of the latest therapies. Current research projects at UCSF Benioff Children’s include pioneering a new drug delivery approach for pediatric brain tumors, called convection-enhanced delivery
