For over 150 years, The Daily Californian has served as Berkeley's only student-run, non-profit newspaper, providing current updates about the city and student life. The Daily Californian has also been a supportive community to countless students, where undergraduates are able to learn about the ins and outs of journalism, business and professional life. This tradition of excellence and curiosity is reflected in the multitude of awards in student journalism that our newspaper has received, as well as the success of our alumni at newspapers and highly-renowned companies across the globe.

This year, our newspaper will be participating in the 2022 Big Give. The Big Give is an online fundraising tradition that began in 2014, giving you and the entire Cal community — alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends — the chance to come together to support your favorite schools and programs, and amplify your generosity through awareness and contest prizes It is an opportunity to give the entire Cal community — alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends — the chance to come together to support their favorite schools and programs, like the Daily Cal!

When you donate to Daily Cal on March 10 as part of the Big Give, your gift will go towards an endowment for unrestricted operational support for the Daily Cal. Operational support includes things like student stipends and scholarships, and software and other tools needed for students to produce award-winning journalism.
