Dear Friend of the AHN Foundation:

The AHN Foundation was born from our founder, Alicia Coulter MPH, MSW’s, unwavering commitment to providing equitable healthcare education. Beginning in 2018 as Advantage Health Now, Alicia helped community members navigate healthcare systems, challenge medical bills, and connect with healthcare and dental providers. Often, she offered these services at no charge, knowing the community’s need for healthcare advocacy. In 2020, as the world faced the COVID-19 pandemic, Alicia transformed Advantage Health Now into the nonprofit AHN Foundation.

Why the shift? During the pandemic, health departments across the country, including the Los Angeles Department of Public Health, declared racism a public health crisis. This acknowledgment inspired us to take bold action in supporting historically marginalized communities, particularly Black communities, and making our mission to advance equitable healthcare and resources.

In 2024, this mission is as urgent as ever, and the AHN Foundation is here, fighting for the community as if lives depend on it—because they do.

We invite you to participate in this critical work as we celebrate three years of impact. Our upcoming “New Year Healthier You” fundraiser will showcase our accomplishments, the essential services we provide, and the trusted community partners we collaborate with to ensure all individuals receive the healthcare they deserve. We invite you to support us in making this event a success. Contributions can come in many forms: sponsorships, donations, or items for our silent auction—all of which will help us continue our mission and expand our reach.
