Established in 1977, MariElders, a nonprofit senior center, has been devoted to enhancing the lives of adults aged 55 and older. Originally known as the Mariemont Assembly Program for Older Adults, the center emerged from a presentation by Ms. Jane Carothers, Director of the Hyde Park Center for Older Adults, at the invitation of the Kiwanis Club of Mariemont.

Renamed MariElders in 1979, the center evolved over the years with Barbara Anderson serving as director from 1980 through 2011. The Members Council, formed in 1980, integrated active members into the center’s governance.

With a rich history of community support, forward-thinking governance, and a commitment to enriching the lives of older adults, MariElders continues to thrive in its current location on Madisonville Road. The organization remains dedicated to providing activities, transportation, and services for seniors, fostering a vibrant and supportive community.
