Golf registration fee of $190 INCLUDES green fees, cart, gift bag, after-event lunch, and a tax-deductible charitable donation of $100 toward Red Strings Grants Program. Any additional guests who are not playing in the tournament may attend lunch with our lunch add on ticket.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT:

Format: The tournament will follow a Step-Aside Scramble format. A Step-Aside Scramble is a four-person team event in which each player hits his/her tee shot and the best shot is selected. The player whose shot is selected steps aside for the next shot. All other players then play the next shot from the position of the selected ball, placing or dropping within one club length of the original ball’s position (and within six inches on the putting green), no nearer the hole. The same procedure is used on all shots, including putts. The process continues until the ball is holed and starts over at the next hole. All players tee off on every hole.

When dropping or placing the ball, the ball must stay in its original condition of play. For example, you cannot drop a ball from the rough into the fairway. When the ball is holed, that is the official score counted for the team.

Threesomes follow the above format, but for the 4th player on each team, the players will rotate hitting a 2nd shot for the entire hole.

This format allows teams to leverage the strengths of individual players and strategize together to achieve the best possible outcome on each shot. We encourage you to gather your fellow golf enthusiasts and form a team to make this event even more exciting. If you're an individual player, don't worry! We will happily assign you to a team.

Additional Activities: Aside from the main tournament, we are also planning fun side competitions like closest to the pin.

After-Event Get Together: We definitely will be planning an optional after-event lunch and get-together for participants to unwind, relax, and get to know other participants.

ABOUT RED STRING FOUNDATION

Red String Foundation is a small 501c3 philanthropic private foundation that provides grants to qualified local public charities working with at-risk and underserved youth to improve education and life outcomes, assisting low-income families toward greater self-sufficiency, and caring for homebound elderly persons to keep them active, secure, and well.

From our very beginnings, we wanted to create a different, more inclusive and impactful private foundation that not only worked toward greater equity in education, communities, and livelihoods, but also focused on building relationships, galvanizing action toward our mission, and attracting others to our cause.
